A Stylized Bridal Boudoir Session | Virginia Boudoir Photographer

I love the soft and romantic look of a bridal boudoir session. It is most likely you may not have time to fit in a boudoir session on your wedding day in your lingerie so planning a boudoir session to gift to your new hubby is the way to go! A boudoir album makes the perfect wedding gift. When you do prepare for your bridal boudoir session, don’t forget to bring your bridal accessories like veil, shoes and jewelry. Also any other detail that might be meaningful on your wedding day. Also when planning what to wear for your session don’t forget to bring other outfit choices to give your album a variety of looks.

I had a lot of fun stylizing this session with the help of Keisha Willis of Keisha Willis Beauty for makeup and hair and Kim Glover of Violet Gardens Floral Designs for the bouquet and head piece. And also my fantastic model!

Lingerie: Victoria’s Secret (Bra and Panty Set) and H&M (White Body Suit)

Stylized Bridal Boudoir | Virginia Boudoir Photographer

One of my favorite things about boudoir photography is being able to style a session and the model. I usually find the outfits, accessories and a model and on the day of I’ll work closely with the hair and makeup artist on the types of looks that will work best for the overall look and feel of the shoot. I had such a great time during this stylized bridal boudoir shoot. Here’s a couple peeks until I post more images and details from this session!

Le Bustiere Boutique | Washington DC Boudoir Photographer

Let me tell you, after a proper bra fitting from someone who knows what they’re doing totally makes a difference in not only how it fits, but how you feel. I met Stephanie, the owner of Le Bustiere, when I visited her lingerie boutique in Washington DC and when she offered me a free bra fitting (since I’ve never had a professional bra fitting..like, ever..), I couldn’t refuse! Stephanie not only fitted me properly with the right size, but she educated me on how a bra is supposed to fit. Which was eye opening to me, because I couldn’t believe that all this time I’ve been wearing the wrong bra size.

She’s very knowledgable on the styles, the fit, and what looks best for your body type. What I really appreciated the most about Stephanie’s customer service is not only did she educate me on bra fitting, but she had me try on different styles that I normally wouldn’t try on my own which to my surprise – I actually really liked something I probably wouldn’t have tried on myself. The fit was perfect and the style and color was super flattering. So needless to say, it was quite possibly the best experience and I left feeling more confident! Who knew a bra fitting would do such a thing!

The best part of this whole experience is Le Bustiere specializes in unique european inspired style lingerie and swimwear in diverse brands and sizes that you won’t find anywhere else. Unlike the cookie cutter styles you see in those chain lingerie stores. Styles from soft and feminine to edgy and sultry. So you can count on having unique and properly fitted pieces for your boudoir shoot.

I’m super excited to having met Stephanie and we decided to join forces in a cross promotion venture! When you book your boudoir shoot, you’ll receive 10% off your lingerie purchase from Le Bustiere. Not to mention fantastic customer service from a true lingerie expert!

Women’s Portraiture | Virginia Portrait Photographer

It was the perfect day for a women’s portrait session. And not mention I love shooting at sunset. The light is just gorgeous at that time. When Amber contacted me for some portraits I was real excited because I knew of this location that I wanted to shoot at for some time and I finally had the chance. What was really awesome too is Amber was just game for anything which I love because I usually go in with a game plan but in the midst of shooting, I get all these ideas and she was more than willing to take part:)

Thank you Amber for such a fun shoot!

My Favorite Things | DC Boudoir Photographer

I thought it would be fun to do a blog post on some things I’ve been diggin’ lately. It will hopefully get you to know me a little better but I also just like to share my favorite products, services or even just the music I’ve been listening to…anything really! I haven’t decided yet if this will be a weekly or monthly thing, so I’m thinking monthly. Anyway, so here’s my favorite things:

They’re Real! Mascara by benefit cosmetics
Honestly, I hate mascara. Hated it so much I got eyelash extensions and loved them, but really, the upkeep is expensive and not something I was very timely with. So I went back to mascara and after trying a lot of different ones, I really liked this one. It doesn’t go on real thick and it separates, lengthens, curls and volumizes – everything I want for a mascara. And I like the wand. It has a bulb on the end to help wing out the corners of your lashes.

Naked Skin foundation by Urban Decay
Usually my go to for face coverage is something like a tinted moisturizer. I hate the feeling of thick foundations that usually cake up and crack so tinted moisturizers usually was the best solution for me. However, I have a small case of rosacea on the apples of my cheeks and wanted more coverage on them without caking on thick foundation and concealer so when I asked the sales assocaiate about what I was looking for she recommended Naked Skin by Urban Decay. What’s awesome about it is it’s weightless and buildable for the amount of coverage you want. Also has a matte finish that I like.

Band – Haim
I’m always on the lookout for new music and I heard “the Wire” on the radio and immediately looked up Haim. They’re a rock band of sisters from L.A. and I totally dig them. Mostly when I’m driving or editing photos. Now I’m just hoping I can see them in concert.:)Check them out!

I’d love to hear about your favorite things so don’t be shy to leave a comment:)
